Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr reviewed on Wednesday with Egyptian Exchange (EGX) Chairman Mohamed Farid Saleh a plan for developing securities market and means of using innovative financial tools to improve the Egyptian economy performance.
In a statement by the Investment and International Cooperation Ministry on Wednesday, Nasr said the ministry is deeply interested in developing securities market within the framework of the economic reform program.
Nasr urged Saleh to forge an up-to-date mechanism for the Egyptian capital market.
She also underlined the importance of expanding trading at the bourse, encouraging long-term investments and enhancing disclosure and transparency at the Egyptian capital market.
Meanwhile, Saleh pledged to work on securing a proper climate for the Egyptian capital market to support the economic development process.
Nasr also called on Saleh to offer more support for medium-sized and small enterprises in view of their role in securing jobs for youths.
