"Broken" was named the Best British Independent Film of 2012 and its cast member Rory Kinnear Best Supporting Actor at a ceremony in London. Peter Strickland took home the Best Director prize for "Berberian Sound Studio" and its star, Toby Jones, was declared Best Actor. The film also earned the accolades for Best Achievement in Production and Best Technical Achievement. Andrea Riseborough won the Best Actress honor for "Shadow Dancer" and Olivia Colman the Best Supporting Actress prize for "Hyde Park on Hudson" at the 15th Moet British Independent Film Awards. The ceremony took place Sunday night at Old Billingsgate. Northern Irish actor James Nesbitt, a cast member of "The Hobbit," served as host of the event. "It is wonderful to see so many films acknowledged by our jury which goes to prove what a strong year 2012 has been for British independent film," directors of the awards, Johanna von Fischer and Tessa Collinson, said in a statement. "We were delighted that so many of the winners were with us tonight to collect their awards and celebrate our 15th birthday, along with a number of previous winners, patrons, and friends of BIFA. We are extremely proud that The Moet British Independent Film Awards continues to highlight the extraordinary talent that is so plentiful within British independent filmmaking today."
