John Cusack appeared with a boombox in his hand onstage at a Peter Gabriel concert in Los Angeles as a tribute to the rocker's ballad "In Your Eyes." Cusack's character famously tried to win back his estranged girlfriend in the 1989 teen romance "Say Anything" by holding a radio over his head and playing the song outside her bedroom window. Of course, she eventually got over her issues and came back to him. The Hollywood Reporter said Cusack appeared on stage at Gabriel's Hollywood Bowl show Saturday night in honor of the 25th anniversary of Gabriel's album "So," which included the hit "In Your Eyes." Cusack handed off the boombox to Gabriel, tipped his hat and bowed out of the way, then Gabriel held the radio over his head before singing the song. "Say Anything" director Cameron Crowe was also in the audience for the concert, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said. Cusack told United Press International in 2009 he was happy to hear so many people still loved the movie 20 years after it came out. "I have great fondness for it," Cusack told UPI while promoting his action flick "2012." "It was a great collaboration with [writer-director] Cameron Crowe and I was really proud of the movie, so it's really nice that people are still remembering it this many years later. I'm always kind of delighted that people still like it," he said of "Say Anything."
