The Egyptian actor, Adel Imam, has denied reported rumours that the People’s Assembly intend to issue a law to prevent him and a group of other artists from participating in political discourse for 10 years, due to their proximity with the ousted former president Hosni Mubarak. He noted that he himself made sure that the Assembly is not thinking of issuing such a law. Adel Imam, who is known as Az-Za’eem (The Leader), expressed his surprise of this rumours saying that: “Why shall they isolate me? I have never joined any party, nor was I a member of the policy committee, have never held a political position, or was, for example, an editor in chief of a newspaper. Why should they isolate me then?” On another matter, the Egyptian star said that he was not hurt when his villa was broken into by an unknown man on Wednesday 18, 2012, nothing that this man in question was simply an eager fan who previously went to the the theatre to try and meet Iman.
