After acclamied director Khaled Youssef decided to boycott the Egyptian election, Egyptian star Amr Waked stated via his “Twitter” account that he joined the list of those boycotting parliamentary elections. Waked justified his decision by saying that he rejects the election law drafted by the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF). In Waked’s opinion the election would not reflect the revolution, calling it a "comedy” that will end up with Islamists and the former members of the dissolved National Democratic Party (NDP). Waked stated that the elections, which started Monday, was not the way to end the current crisis, announcing that “whoever wants to boycott it, can do that and whoever wants to vote is free to.” Meanwhile, Waked asked director Ahmed Saleh to delay the shooting of his TV series Critical Moments for a short period, until the end of the Tahrir Square events, as they kept him away from shooting. Saleh, understanding Waked's situation, rescheduled the shoot with crew members.
