It's taken 16 years, but rocker Chris Cornell is finally getting the spelling he wanted for his debut solo album.
Cornell announced Tuesday that a reissue of his 1999 album "Euphoria Morning" will come out next month as his originally intended "Euphoria Mourning" -- a difference of one letter but with a significant change of meaning.
The former frontman of Seattle grunge band Soundgarden said in a statement that he had changed the spelling before the album's original release "after I listened to some bad advice."
The album -- which, incidentally, started off with a song entitled "Can't Change Me" -- stayed true to the hard-edged grunge of Soundgarden while veering into psychedelic rock.
The reissued "Euphoria Mourning" will include the album's first edition on vinyl, a format that has seen a resurgence in recent years.
The reissue comes amid a flurry of activity by Cornell, who is known for his sweeping vocal range as well as his past struggles with addiction.
He plans in September to release "Higher Truth," his first album of new material in four years, followed by an extensive tour of North America.
