Wassouf, speaking to Arabstoday from his residence in Beirut, wanted to reassure his fans that he was getting better "thanks to the love I have received from the public, my wife, my children and parents who are praying for me. I knew that God would take care of me." He said that this health ordeal led him to re-discover who his real friends were and those who were not. He expressed gratitude to those who remained true to him.
