The Grammys will pay tribute to Stevie Wonder with a special performance after the music industry's annual US awards night.
Grammy organizers announced a two-hour show in the Motown legend's honor to be recorded on February 10 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, two days after the awards.
An executive at CBS television, which will broadcast the tribute on February 16, said the show will "give everyone he's inspired a chance to show our esteem."
"His music is as poignant as it is appealing and his songs have the ability to illustrate our world in every note," Jack Sussman, an executive vice president at CBS Entertainment, said in a statement Monday.
Organizers did not immediately announce performers.
The 64-year-old visually impaired artist has won 25 Grammys including the prestigious Album of the Year in 1974, 1975 and 1977.
The 1977 Grammy was for his seminal double-album "Songs in the Key of Life" which featured hits such as "Isn't She Lovely" and "I Wish."
Wonder embarked on a short tour last month in which he is playing the double album.
The Grammy show follows the model of a special that accompanied the awards in February 2014 to celebrate 50 years since the Beatles arrived in the United States.
The event produced a Beatles reunion of sorts with the Fab Four's two living members, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, joined by John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono and their son Sean Lennon.
