The Kingdom celebrated World Civil Defense Day under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior and chairman of the Civil Defense Council, on Tuesday.
All the departments and divisions of the Civil Defense across the Kingdom held more than 600 different events to mark the occasion, including 13 awareness exhibitions, lectures, workshops and field visits to educational and business establishments and charities.
The Kingdom celebrated the event under the slogan “Civil Defense and Culture of Prevention for a Safer Society” with the supervision of all governors of the regions.
The events targeted promoting the use of information technology and media in spreading and publishing the safety culture and raising preventive awareness against all kinds of hazards.
Suleiman bin Abdullah Al-Amro, director of the Civil Defense, said the the events reflect the keenness of the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on developing the capabilities of the Civil Defense.
Al-Amro expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the crown prince for his support to develop and upgrade the capabilities of the Civil Defense and efforts in expanding its services to include all the regions of the Kingdom.
