Melhem Barakat ‘fanatical’ about Lebanese music

Lebanese singer Melhem Barakat has told Arabstoday of his "fanatical bias" for Lebanese music. Barakat enthusiastically described Lebanese music as "the creator of stars and civilisations" and denounced singers who build their fame “on the shoulders of Lebanese music before ungratefully moving on, thinking it’s going to provide them with huge success.” "They have forgotten about leading Lebanese singers such as Fayrouz,” he said.
