Lebanese singer Moein Sherif has hit out at his management company, Rotana Audio Visual, for imposing “ridiculous” policies that caused the firm to lose its “most beautiful voices.” Sherif told Arabstoday that some managers at the company had a “narrow-minded” approach to making music, only focusing on “quick hits” and catchy pop tunes, rather than on quality production. As a result, he said, many of the company’s “golden throats” like artist Wadih el-Safi were forced to leave Rotana. He pointed out that such departures will surely mean a loss of credibility for the music label. “Artists will no longer be able to trust Rotana as a company that makes quality music,” he said. Sherif also said he enjoyed his recent duet with Syrian singer Ali Al-Dik.
