Egyptian actress Hanan Motawie has disclosed that her new movie, Before The Spring, looks at the social and political problems in Egypt which led to the January 25 revolution. Motawie expressed frustration at current events in Egypt, and told Arab Today that extremism is the root cause of all problems. "Egypt is threatened by extremist groups, who can only be defeated if the people cooperate with the military and security institutions," she said. The Egyptian star recently completed filming the drama series, Afternoon Sun, in which she plays the role of an Islamic preacher. The drama, written and directed by Hazem Metwally, will be shown on Egyptian television next Ramadan.
