Tunisian singer Latifa has told Arabstoday her latest release, I Thought Of You, was recorded to commemorate the memory of her friend, late Egyptian singer Amer Moneib. Moneib passed away in 2011. The Egyptian singer recorded the song, originally written by Tamer Hussein, five years ago and released it on his How Lucky Am I? album. “My relationship with Amer goes back a very long way,” Latifa said. “We were good friends for a long time, even after he got married.” “Even after his death, I still have a strong bond with his wife, Eman, and their three children,” she added. Latifa said the release was designed to commemorate Moneib, because nobody else in the industry was paying attention to the anniversary of his death. I Thought Of You will be released in two forms, a solo and a duet with Moneib.
