Kuwait is "very prepared" to be an important tourist destination in the region with its great potential, said Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai.
In a joint press conference with the Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdulmohsen Al-Madaj, Rifai expected a promising future for the tourism sector in Kuwait.
"I believe that Kuwait could provide a tourist model different from that prevalent in other Gulf states," he said.
He pointed out that Kuwait also has advanced tourism infrastructure of hotels, restaurants, means of transportations, entertainment and recreational facilities.
Rifai also noted that there is a real political determination to develop this sector.
All indications prove that the tourism sector will witness a remarkable leap in the future, he said.
