Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Salman Sabah Al Salem Al Hamoud said Sunday that theKuwait Airlines will launch direct flights to Sharm El Sheikh upon directives from Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jabir to boost tourism in Egypt.
The announcement was made during the Kuwaiti minister's meeting with Egyptian Minister of Tourism Hisham Zaazou at his office in Cairo in the presence of Kuwaiti Ambassador in Cairo Salem Al Zaman.
The Kuwaiti minister voiced solidarity with Egypt, especially in the tourism sector and conveyed a message of solidarity from the Kuwaiti political leadership and the Kuwaiti people to the Egyptian people and government.
The minister said his visit aimed at launching several initiatives to back the tourism sector in Egypt, noting that direct flights from Kuwait to Sharm El Sheikh will be launched in December.
He made it clear that Kuwait was among the first countries which supported Egypt and took part in the economic conference held in Sharm El Sheikh as well as the inauguration of the new Suez Canal.
The Kuwaiti minister also congratulated Zaazou on the success of the parliamentary elections, which is the final phase of Egypt's roadmap plan and its efforts to enhance stability and move towards a better future.
