Aviation Minister Hosam Kamal on Sunday highlighted strong relations linking Egypt and Russia, saying the two countries are working together to upgrade Egypt's air navigation, traffic control and radar systems.
Kamal said the ministry has a plan to upgrade the infrastructure of the aviation sector in Egypt using new radar systems.
He voiced happiness over signing an agreement with the Russian LEMZ and AZIMUT companies in this regard.
Under the agreement, the two companies would improve the efficiency of Egypt's aviation control systems in accordance with the international standards, the minister said.
Egypt is keen on maximizing the benefits from its geographical position to improve cost and operation efficiency.
