The draft law on fisheries and aquaculture, recently adopted by the Council of ministers, will be submitted to Parliament in the coming weeks, Sid-Ahmed Ferroukhi, Minister of Fishing and Fishery Resources said Tuesday in Oran.
The minister, who chaired a provincial meeting on the action plan for fisheries and aquaculture "Aquapêche 2020," said the project includes amendments to improve the situation of the sector and strengthen artisanal and coral fisheries and other issues relating to fisheries management.
Regarding training, Ferroukhi stressed the need for more efforts in this field to acquire new techniques to reach a professional development in the sector.
As for the Action Plan for Fisheries and Aquaculture "Aquapêche 2020," the minister said that it is based on mechanisms and actions mean to implement the program of the Government and the President of the Republic. This project was presented last June to be discussed and enriched with various stakeholders to make a forward-looking view of the sector, he said.
