Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour has asked authorities to find a radical solution to recurrent electricity outages that were reported in the southern Tafileh governorate during the blizzard that hit the country in the past days.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Mohammad Hamed, told Petra Sunday that the premier had directed the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission, the National Electric Power Company and electricity distribution companies, particularly those in the southern regions, to put in place an integral plan to avert such blackouts.
Hamed added that a plan was being drawn up and will be presented to the cabinet on Wednesday, adding that his ministry had urged electricity distribution companies to take seriously the electricity cuts and ensure they will not be repeated in the future.
