Sudan's first Vice-President Bakri Hassan Saleh said on Monday that his country's stance on the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is based on the rule of "no harm" to any party.

Saleh made the remarks during his meeting with visiting Egyptian Agriculture Minister Salah Helal and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi.

"The Ethiopian dam should take into account the national security of all peoples and countries of the region as well as the interests of the eastern Nile Basin countries, Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia," he asserted.

He hailed as "positive" the outcome of the seventh round of talks on the Renaissance Dam, which wrapped up in the capital Khartoum on Friday.

"The talks reflected the spirit of brotherhood and understanding," he said, hoping to reach an agreement that achieves the interests of all parties.

He asserted that the viewpoints of the Egyptian and Sudanese leaderships on the agricultural integration projects are identical.

"The two countries should achieve integration in all agricultural, livestock and food security fields" he added.
