Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday stressed the need to support a political process in Syria as combating terrorism on the Syrian territories has almost reached the end.
In a press conference, Lavrov said the international community should assist the Syrians in achieving a peaceful settlement.
Russia, Iran and Turkey are discussing the agenda and the date for holding the Syrian Congress on National Dialogue, Lavrov said.
Preparations for the Syrian congress are underway, the Russian top diplomat affirmed.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan announced earlier that the Syrian peace congress that was set to be held on November 18 has been postponed.
