A fifth round will be held in case no candidate gets the absolute majority, but it is not required to get 30 votes this time.
Meanwhile, UNESCO sources said that no candidate has succeeded so far in winning the election in the first round.
The sources added that candidate Moushira Khattab of Egypt got 11 votes, Audrey Azoulay of France 13 votes, Abdulaziz Al Kawari of Qatar 10 votes and Vera El Khoury-Lacoeuilhe of Lebanon six votes.
A second round will be held on Tuesday and it is likely that the vote will run for a fourth round
