At least five Taliban militants were killed Thursday after a car exploded in Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan.
Afghan police said in a statement that the incident took place in Khojane neighborhood, as Prominent Leader of Taliban Mohamed Aleem was traveling by his car to the neighborhood when the explosion occurred after the vehicle passed on an explosive device planted on the side of the road, Khaama Press reported.
Aleem was carrying weapons and ammunition in his car when the explosion took place, the statement added.
