More than 4,500 have left Russia to fight for terrorists abroad, Russian Director of the Federal Security Service FSB Aleksandr Bortnikov was quoted by TASS news agency as saying Tuesday.
"By now about 4,500 Russian citizens have been identified who have gone abroad to fight for terrorists," Bortnikov added.
The Russian army announced in April that these Russian citizens fought with Daesh since 2015.
