Three Syrian opposition factions signed an Egyptian-brokered agreement on Thursday to cease fire, according to a statement by the Egyptian Intelligence.
Jaish Al Islam, Jaish al Ababil and Aknaf Bait al Maqdis, which are stationed in southern Damascus, signed the Russian-guaranteed ceasefire agreement at the headquarters of the Egyptian Intelligence, the statement said.
The agreement comes into force today at 12: p.m. (Cairo Local Time).
Under the agreement, the factions agreed to open crossings in southern Damascus to let in humanitarian aid.
