US President Donald Trump has delayed a decision on whether to recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital and move the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, according to the White House.
The White House noted that Trump would miss a deadline to decide on shifting the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, after 48 hours of public warnings from allies and private phone calls between world leaders.
“The president has been clear on this issue. It is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when,” White House spokesman Hogan Gidley was quoted by Al Hurra channel as saying on Tuesday.
