Sudanese International Cooperation Minister Sumaya Idris met Tuesday with the British Department for International Development (DFID) delegation headed by Chief Economist of the DFID Stefan Dercon in Sudanese capital Khartoum to discuss economic cooperation between both sides.
The minister said in press statements that several economic issues were discussed during the meeting, as she informed the delegation on the role and tasks of the ministry and the strategic changes that have taken place in the past period on the Sudanese after the economic blockade was lifted.
Idris underlined that it was agreed to support the private sector in Sudan and to establish mechanisms to coordinate with investors in accordance with the state's top priorities in terms of plans and strategies.
She underscored that the talks also included supporting the agriculture, industry, infrastructure and energy sectors, as well as creating job opportunities for young people.
