The S&P 500 and Nasdaq finished at fresh record highs Friday as Wall Street closed the books on a solid third quarter amid renewed hopes that Washington will cut taxes.
The S&P 500 stood at 2,519, up 0.4 percent, shortly after the closing bell, its second straight record, while the tech-rich Nasdaq jumped 0.7 percent to 6,495.96.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.1 percent to 22,402.75
