The meeting of the 150th Ordinary Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, chaired by Sudan, concluded here today.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation was led by Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir.
The Council affirmed its rejection and condemnation of attempts to end or diminish the role and mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) through the systematic Israeli campaigns.
The Council called upon the international community to commit itself to empowering UNRWA and to secure adequate financial resources and financial contributions to its budget and activities in order to continue its role in providing essential services.
The council expressed its appreciation for the efforts of the Member States hosting the Palestinian refugees and for the Member States that contribute to UNRWA, particularly the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
The Council of Arab Foreign Ministers called on the Arab states to activate the financial support for the state of Palestine with US $ 100 million per month to overpass its financial crises.
The Council thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its commitment to pay its debts in support of the budget of the State of Palestine, and its contribution in increase the capital of the Al-Aqsa and Al-Quds Funds.
The Council of Arab Ministers of Foreign Affairs expressed appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for naming the 29th session of the Arab Summit as the "Jerusalem Summit in recognition of the spiritual and religious status of the Holy City of Jerusalem.
