Hurricane Maria has grown into a maximum-strength Category Five storm, US forecasters said Monday, as it was bearing down on the Caribbean island of Dominica.
The "potentially catastrophic" hurricane had top winds of 160 miles (257 kilometers) per hour as it swirled just 15 miles east-southeast of Dominica at 0000 GMT Tuesday, the Miami-based National Hurricane Center said
