Irish no-frills airline Ryanair declared Thursday that it is formally recognising a pilots' trade union, in an effort to resolve a long-running row and prevent strikes.
"Ryanair has this morning written to the Impact union confirming in writing that it is recognising Impact and its Ryanair Company Pilot Council," the carrier said in a statement, adding that it has also submitted new proposals on pay and working conditions.
