The Emirates Cricket Board has officially announced the men’s and women’s cricket teams, sponsored by DBMSC – Steel, which will represent the UAE at the upcoming World Indoor Cricket Federation’s World Cup.

Spread over seven days, the tournament will be played at Dubai’s Insportz Club from Saturday, 16th September, until the finals on the following Saturday, 23rd September, 2017.

"We are delighted to announce the teams that will represent the UAE in the WICF’s World Cup men’s and women’s divisions," said Zayed Abbas, Emirates Cricket spokesperson. "These players have been exceptionally committed to their training, throughout the year, and their efforts have been rewarded by selection to represent the UAE."

"Hosting the 2017 World Cup is a proud moment for the Emirates Cricket Board. We are delighted with the calibre of the countries that are participating in the tournament, and we are confident that our UAE players have the skills and attitude to challenge the best in the tournament. We wish them every success in this campaign," he added.

Men’s team: Saqib Nazir (C), Aqib Malik, Fahad Al Hashmi, Isuru Umesh, Nadir Hussain, Sachin Talwar, Nashwan Nasir, Prashath Kumara, Ramveer Rai, Sameer Nayak, Umar Shah and Vikrant Shetty.

Women's team: Natasha Michael (C), Prachi Kumar, Chaya Mughal, Esha Oza, Fatimah Ahsan, Heena Hotchandani, Humaira Tasneem, Kavisha Kumari, Namitha D’Souza, Roopa Nagraj, Subha Srinivasan and Shalani Wanniarachachi.
