A delegation from the Emirates Scout Association, ESA, headed by Dr. Salem Abdulrahman Al Darmaki, Chairman of the ESA, has continued its participation, for the second consecutive day, at the session of the 41st World Scout Conference held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.
The activities of the conference began with a presentation of a report on the 23rd World Scout Jamboree, which was held in Japan in 2015. The participants, who numbered some 1,500 representing 180 countries, were divided into working groups that discussed several other topics.
The ESA delegation also took part in discussions on formulating draft resolutions, which include recommendations from the World Youth Forum and on constitutional changes.
Another session was held to discuss a report about the conference’s strategic vision for 2023, as well as the strategic goals of the World Scout Organisation for 2017 to 2020.
The conference also held a session to present the 19 nominated candidates for membership of the upcoming World Scout Committee, where voting will take place during the conference to choose 12 of the candidates. The Arab region has four candidates representing Lebanon, Libya, Tunisia and Sudan.
The ESA pavilion in the conference’s general exhibition has witnessed great demand from other participating delegations, and it distributed printed material and commemorative gifts that carry the symbols of the ESA and the conference, such as badges and commemorative flags.
