Kanoo International School was crowned intermediate girls stage football champions at the Fourth Mini Olympics.
On the seventh day of the Mini Olympics, Kanoo International School completed their round robin competition on top with 15 points to secure the gold medal.
Al Hekma finished second with 12 points, to take the silver, while third-placers Hawar International School settled for the bronze with 7 points.
The basketball intermediate and secondary stages finals were also staged yesterday, as AMA took both titles in the boys section at Um Al Hassam Complex’s Bahrain Basketball Association Hall.
The intermediate team secured the title beating the Indian School ‘B’ team 11-2 in a one-sided final, while AMA’s secondary stage team bagged the competition’s gold medal after a well-deserved 14-9 win over Kanoo International School ‘A’ team.
In the girls finals at the Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities in Riffa, Al Noor International School took the secondary stage girls gold medal, with Indian School ‘B’ team second and Sacred Heart School third.
Ibn Khuldoon ‘A’ team topped the intermediate stage event, with the Indian School ‘A’ and Ibn Khuldoon School teams claiming second and third positions, respectively.
Today’s action also featured the remaining group stages of the boys football championships for the intermediate and secondary stages.
In the primary stage championship, Hawar School continued to lead Group ‘A’ with a resounding 9-1 victory over Palms School at the Bahrain Football Association grounds in Riffa. The intermediate stage competition saw Creativity School edge Hawar 3-1 in the top-of-Group ‘B’ clash.
Action in the Mini Olympics continues today with the finals of the intermediate and primary boys football tournament from 9am onwards.
