National badminton singles player Soong Joo Ven has yet to lift the racket after receiving two free victories to advance to the third round of the Russian Open Championship.
Joo Ven, who is the third seed, got a bye in the first round, and a walkover in the second after C. Rohit Yadav of India withdrew from the competition.
The 22-year-old, who will take part in the team event at the 29th SEA Games, is set to face his first match against Japanese opponent Ryotaro Maruo, who beat Siril Verma of India, 14-12, 11-4, 11-3 in the second round.....
