California - UPI

U.S. network CBS has tapped "My Name is Earl" writer Hilary Winston to pen a television adaptation of the film "Bad Teacher," The Hollywood Reporter said. The project was originally written for the big screen by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, and starred Cameron Diaz as a gold-digging teacher trying to win the heart of a wealthy colleague, played by Justin Timberlake. Winston is on board to write the script and executive produce the television version of "Bad Teacher," along with Stupnitsky and Eisenberg, THR reported. Winston's most recent effort was a pilot for a workplace comedy, "Happy Valley," starring Freddie Prinze Jr. and Mena Suvari, which was not picked up by NBC.
