Lancôme is adding another member to its exclusive club of spokesmodels. After the appointment of Lupita Nyong’o in April this year, the French cosmetics brand has now announced that Caroline de Maigret is the latest face to represent the company.
Thirty-nine year old Caroline de Maigret joins a group of Lancôme brand ambassadors that includes Julia Roberts, Emma Watson, Lupita Nyong’o and Penelope Cruz. A former model and now music producer, Caroline de Maigret is a Parisian fashion icon with an aristocratic pedigree, who inspires legions of women for her style in much the same way as Inès de la Fressange and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
And she's even penned a book on her unique brand of Parisian chic, an eclectic mix of fine manners and edgy rock style, the humor-laced "How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are: Love, Style, and Bad Habits" which comes out in the US in September and whose launch will be supported by Lancôme. But these days, spokesmodels are more than just faces and in this regard, Caroline de Maigret is also poised to be creating and developing an original makeup collection with the brand for next spring.
"I am delighted by this collaboration, which is unlike any other and which truly reflects Lancôme," noted de Maigret. "It's the beginning of a lovely adventure with this brand that I love so much. A brand that offers a different vision of femininity: one that is free, intelligent and that touches both the heart and mind."
The same enthusiasm was expressed by a spokesperson for the brand, with Françoise Lehmann, General Manager of Lancôme International, noting that the collaboration "inaugurates a new way of working with women who inspire us by placing them at the centre of our activity. Caroline has this very French form of curiosity and creativity that can be applied with an open mind to extremely varied fields, from art to music, from beauty to fashion. This is a way to revisit every subject, even the most serious, in a light-hearted, enjoyable manner and offer a completely new and surprising vision."
