SLC is donating the entire proceeds from the sale of women’s luxury used handbags at the exhibition, along with a portion of the exhibition’s overall takings, to The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF), a charity initiative launched by the Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Supreme Council for Family Affairs, to support refugee children globally.
“The timing of the Ebriez Fashion Exhibition is especially suitable for ladies, because it coincides with the beginning of Ramadan. We anticipate that this will increase the number of women attending who are keen to obtain personal fashion items, decorate their homes and buy clothes for their little ones in preparation for the commencement of the holy month. They are also being given an unrivalled opportunity to explore the latest accessories and high class abayas designed for holidays and special occasions, all in an exclusive environment for ladies,” saidKhawla Al Serkal, Director-General of Sharjah Ladies Club.
“The Ebriez Fashion Exhibition forms a major platform for ladies as it is one of the largest exhibitions of its kind organised in Sharjah. We are expecting a significant number of citizens and residents who live in the emirate or close by to visit theexhibition, which plays a key role in both achieving positive results for small businesses owners and contributing to the emirate’s economic growth,” Al Serkal added.
Mariam Al Hammadi, Director of ‘Salam Ya Seghar’, a TBHF initiative, commended SLC’s efforts and contributions to charity. She praised the fact that the Ebriez Fashion Exhibition was giving a portion of its proceeds to TBHFto help children and refugees in a number of Arab countries. She highlighted SLC’s role in supporting TBHF through its various events which are organised every year and the positive results that these contributions have in achieving the goals and objectives of TBHF.
Al Hammadi added that SLC’s generous charity initiative accords with TBHF’s policy, standards and goals, which aim to continue providing refugees and children in need with help and support, promoting the social and humanitarian solidarity that the UAE is seeking to enhance at all levels.
