Best Western has expanded its portfolio in Jakarta, with the launch of a new midscale hotel, the Best Western Mega Kuningan. Set in a nine-storey building, the modern hotel features 67 rooms and suites, all equipped with flat-screen televisions and complimentary Wi-Fi. The hotel will also feature the Teratai Coffee Shop, an outdoor swimming pool and a meeting room handling up to 46 people. “We are delighted to announce the opening of the Best Western Mega Kuningan – our second hotel in the exciting city of Jakarta,” said the company’s vice president of international operations for Asia & the Middle East, Glenn de Souza. “As the capital of one of the world’s most populous countries and the seat of the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta is becoming a highly important commercial and political hub. As the world continues to look eastwards, towards the booming Asia Pacific region, Jakarta’s presence will continue to grow. “And Best Western Mega Kuningan is now perfectly placed to cater for the increasing number of business and leisure travellers to this exciting city,” he added. Best Western Mega Kuningan becomes the second Best Western hotel in Jakarta, following the 168-room Best Western Mangga Dua Hotel & Residence. But over the next two years, the company expects to open at least five new properties in the city, under its midscale Best Western and luxury Best Western Premier brands, expanding its citywide inventory to more than 1,200 rooms.
