It’s a palatial suite, fit for a maharaja. The Pierre Hotel, part of the luxury Taj Hotel brand, has listed the 39th floor of its Fifth Avenue property on the Manhattan rental market for $500,000 a month, making it the most expensive rental property in New York City.
It’s an eye-watering price tag, but one that comes with 4,786 square feet (444 square meters) of living space, including 6 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, and sweeping views of Central Park, as well as the East and West skylines.
The highlight of the rental is the Pierre’s Presidential Tata Suite that features a dining room with silver leaf table that can seat eight, Bose theater system, Turkish marble bathrooms and decor that drips with opulence.
The hotel is owned by Taj Hotels and Resorts based out of Mumbai, India and is located in Midtown Manhattan, with views of Central Park.
Renters also have access to the hotel’s Taj Royal Attaché butler service -- modeled after the kind of service offered in India’s imperial residences -- 24/7 concierge, maid service and a chauffeur-driven Jaguar.
If half a million is a little out of your league, the hotel will also rent out one of its 10 Grand Suites for $75,000 a month.
Meanwhile, the Four Seasons New York is said to boast the most expensive hotel suite in the city, billing $45,000 a night for the Ty Warner Penthouse.
If a guest were to rent out the room for a month, that would work out to nearly $1.4 million.
