The new Sands Cotai Central will open on April 11, it has been confirmed, with the latest integrated resort from the brand set to offer over nearly 6,000 rooms when completed. At launch the Cotai Strip will feature more than 600 rooms and suites from Conrad, and more than 1,200 rooms from Holiday Inn. When Sands Cotai Central is fully complete in 2013, Sheraton will offer nearly 4,000 rooms and suites, bringing the property’s combined accommodation offering to 5,800 rooms. The inauguration festivities will include noteworthy cultural exchanges and momentous entertainment events, details of which are expected to be announced in the coming days and weeks. At the absolute centre of the Cotai Strip, Sands Cotai Central will join its sister Cotai properties – The Venetian Macau and The Plaza Macau – to create an integrated resort-city experience offering a variety of business and leisure travel amenities. The introduction of three world renowned brands Conrad, Sheraton and Holiday Inn will offer an expansive choice of accommodation for guests visiting Sands Cotai Central. Shoppers looking for the best in luxury duty-free offerings will find over 600 stores to choose from with Shoppes Cotai – a seemingly never-ending retail excursion made up of Shoppes Cotai Central, The Grand Canal Shoppes and The Shoppes at Four Seasons. Michael Kors, Pink Grill and Sergio Rossi are some of the first-to-market brands Shoppes Cotai Central will add to the shoppers’ paradise. On launch, Sands Cotai Central will deliver six new signature and casual dining restaurants that promise to deliver the very best in authenticity and quality. Northern and Southern Chinese, Mediterranean, Pan-Asian, Indian, Thai, Brazilian and local Macanese are just some of the prominently featured tastes, among many others. The uniquely-themed Himalaya and Pacifica gaming centres, featuring surroundings inspired by the foothills of the top of the world and the Polynesian islands, will provide thrill seekers with slot and table game excitement. VIP guests will be able to enjoy the distinctive decor, quality services and panoramic views from Paiza private gaming suites and exclusive rooms. Sands Cotai Central will also feature its own cast of Streetmosphere performers, including a group of acrobats, jugglers, magicians, musicians, living statues and stilt walkers. With a combination of traditional and contemporary Chinese costumes, the music and performance will entertain visitors of the integrated resort, capturing imaginations with scenes reminiscent of the ancient Silk Road. Sands Cotai Central will bring a diverse variety of some of the world’s best performances to Macau at its own theatre, expanding the entertainment options for business and leisure travellers at the centre of the Cotai Strip. “Sands Cotai Central is going to be a truly spectacular property in Macau; the grandeur of the architecture itself is already a must-see destination,” said Edward Tracy, president and chief executive of Sands China. “Sands China has always been committed to bringing the most unique and exciting new experiences to our customers. “It’s our mission to create more reasons for visitors to come to Macao and to stay longer once they arrive. “We also want to thank the government and all of our team members for their efforts in getting us to this momentous day.” Sands Cotai Central’s online booking platform has already started accepting reservations for stays from April 17 2012.
