High-end hotels around the world are offering a variety of costly amenities free of charge to guests after a period of cutting back, industry executives say. Offerings range from designer pajamas by a lingerie designer at the W South Beach Hotel to use of 24-carat gold iPads at a Dubai hotel, ABC News said. At The Kitano Hotel in Manhattan, the featured attraction is a combination bidet and toilet that costs $1,500. The toilets, called Totos -- which are popular in Japan -- have a wash feature and a blow dry feature. "It's a warm wind of air that dries you off," Kitano General Manager Clement Carey said. The Kitano is the only New York hotel to offer the toilets in every room, ABC News said. At the Surrey Hotel in the Upper East Side, an in-room mixologist can be sent to the rooms for free, ABC said. "The mixologist will come to your room and create a drink for you based on the flavors you like," said Patrick Chiappetta, director of operations. "The bartender will make the first four or five for you, teach you how to do it and if you want to have them come back they will or you can make them on your own." Chiappetta said the mixologist is the perfect amenity for those who want to combine the luxury of going out on the town with relaxing with a cocktail in their own room.
