British bakers have earned bragging rights to being the best in Europe, after a pair of English pastry chefs won the World Pastry Cup in Switzerland this week. British duo Barry Johnson of chocolate boutique Rococo Chocolates and Nicolas Belorgey of the Cordon Bleu London trumped their European rivals with their Lion King-themed pastries. The pair will take their championship title to the world finals next year, when they will compete for the title of world’s best pastry chefs at the World Pastry Cup. Placing second was the Danish team with their Batman and Joker-themed pastries, followed by Sweden, who chose spring as their inspiration. Source: Relaxnews
