Two Gordon Ramsay restaurants will open next month in the new St Regis Doha hotel, it was announced on Wednesday. Qatar's newest luxury hotel will employ Michelin-starred Chef Gilles Bosquet to head both restaurants. Launching on May 1, Gordon Ramsay Doha will offer fine-dining experiences in an intimate setting, while Opal by Gordon Ramsay Doha will serve western classics in a relaxed bistro-style environment from May 15, the hotel said in a statement. "We are delighted to partner with the Gordon Ramsay Group to offer guests and local residents two incredible dining options," said Tareq Derbas, General Manager at The St Regis Doha. "A great deal of effort and detail has been put into perfecting these culinary experience for both casual diners and gourmet enthusiasts, and we are confident that these restaurants will elevate Doha's fast-growing dining scene to the next level." Ramsay, the UK celebrity chef famous for his TV shows and Michelin-starred restaurants, said: "It's fantastic to be opening two new restaurants in the St Regis hotel, which is going to be an amazing resort, in a fabulous city. "The restaurants are beautifully designed and I'm very proud of the team, led by Gilles, who will be serving the very best of our traditional dishes as well as some exciting new ones." Prior to The St Regis Doha, chef Gilles Bosquet worked for the Gordon Ramsay Group at The Connaught's Michelin-starred restaurant in London. He has also worked in France, where he was Sous Chef at La Pyramide, a two-star Michelin restaurant in the heart of Paris, before joining a French countryside restaurant, where he was awarded his first Michelin Star. In total, the St Regis Doha will offer 10 culinary and lounge experiences including the first Jazz at Lincoln Centre outside the United States.
