Egypt has been chosen as chairman of Nutrition Working Group in Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), said a statement on Thursday.
In a statement on Thursday, the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) of FAO has elected diplomat Khaled Al-Taweel, member of Egypt's embassy in Rome as head of Nutrition Working Group for the period 2016-2017.
The working group drafts a action program and objectives of Food Security Committee with respect to nutrition issues worldwide.
In press statements, Egypt's Ambassador in Rome Amr Helmi said the election of Egypt to this post confirms the appreciation of the member states for a role played by Egypt in the issues of nutrition at the global level.
