A high-pressure electricity tower in Abu-Za'abl-Suez line was subjected to sabotage act Sunday in order to bring it down, said head of Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company Ahmed Hanafy.
The tower's power supply was maintained until it is repaired, he added, adding that measures are being taken to overcome the problems, which could result from this sabotage act.
The maintenance team started to fix the tower, expected to cost 200,000 pounds, he noted.
Lately electricity substations, towers and circuits have been subject to bombings and sabotage by assailants.
