The Al Ain Zoo will change to the summer operating hours from June 1 until September 30, allowing visitors to enjoy the cooler evening hours at the zoo. Also back on the calendar are ‘Family Nights’, the recreational and educational family experience on every Wednesday at the zoo. The zoo will be open from 4pm to 10pm, offering visitors the opportunity to watch the animals enjoying the cooler evenings as they would naturally in the wild, after resting during the heat of the day. All exhibits will be open with various feedings scheduled throughout the evening, leaving the animals energetic and lively for night-time visitors. The zoo’s popular Bird Show will take place at 7.30pm from Saturday to Thursday, and twice on Fridays, at 6.15pm and 7.30pm. In addition, visitors can enjoy a special Parrot Show at the Education Centre at 5.15pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The Al Ain Zoo’s Family Nights will start at 6pm on Wednesdays throughout the summer, entertaining families with a fun-packed evening of children’s sports, games, a bouncy castle and cartoon movies. A range of ten different sports will be on offer, including golf, football, volleyball and more to keep children active. The zoo will also have henna, arts and crafts, and face painting for more harmonious and creative activities. Cartoons will be screened at the picnic area near the train station at 8pm. Saif Al Dhaheri, Manager Admissions and Guest Relations at the Al Ain Zoo, said: “Al Ain Zoo’s summer programmes allow visitors to see the animals and their habits in the cooler evening hours, while enjoying quality time with their families in an entertaining and educational environment. The summer offers a different and exciting way to experience the zoo and we look forward to welcoming our enthusiastic summer visitors once again.” During the Holy Month of Ramadan, Family Nights will be discontinued and the zoo will be open from 6pm to 12 midnight.
