The first edition of the flower show will open its doors tomorrow -Friday- in Hoorat A’ali.
Locally-produced flowers will go on display in the exhibition, the largest of its kind in Bahrain.
The producers will exhibit their high quality produce, which include specially “Al Ward Al-Muhammadi”, the Orchids and Chrysanthemums and other types of flowers.
Undersecretary for Agriculture and Marine Resources Shaikh Khalifa bin Isa Al-Khalifa stressed the importance of the exhibition as these types of flowers cost millions of dollars, when imported from abroad.
He paid tribute to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and Supreme Council for Women (SCW) for her support.
He underlined the strenuous efforts undertaken by the department of agriculture to achieve self-sufficiency instead of relying on importing flowers.
