Agriculture and Marine Resources Undersecretary of Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs (MMAA), Sheikh Khalifa bin Isa Al Khalifa praised the Ministry of Interior's cooperation represented in the Coast Guard's Command and Customs Affairs Department in monitoring and detecting a number of irregularities in the context of the protection of marine resources. The Agriculture and Marine Resources Undersecretary revealed the launching of a joint campaign, in cooperation with the Coast Guard's Command to regulate fishing harbors to correct the status of unregistered and neglected fishing vessels in the ports, to facilitate the fishermen's sailing and to apply control and regulate fishing. He stressed the need for cooperation of fishermen and workers of the fisheries sector and their commitment to laws and regulations related to maritime fishing and the protection of the marine resources in order to preserve fish stocks, for its importance as an essential element in achieving the Kingdom's food security and stability.
