The Ministry of Environment will lead on Saturday the Shamaal west coastline cleaning campaign in cooperation with the ICC (Indian Cultural Centre).
This is one of the several campaigns being organized in association with the celebration of Qatar National Environment Day 26 February, 2015 and part of MOE initiative to keep the shorelines of Qatar free of plastics and other marine debris mainly brought in by the ocean current.
West coast of Shamaal was chosen for this large campaign, organized under the auspices of HE Ahmad Al-Hemaidi, the Minister of Environment, as it has the highest density of plastic debris than any other shoreline of Qatar.
