UAE-based Sky News Arabia (SNA), a joint venture between Abu Dhabi Media Investment Corporation (ADMIC) and the UK-based Sky plc, has registered the highest UAE viewership rating (14.2 per cent) of news channels broadcast from the UAE.
These results appear in the latest (January 2017) periodical report published by Paris-based Ipsos, the global market and research opinion specialists and the number one research company in MENA, covering 20 countries.
The Ipsos research report reveals that, in 2016, the multi-platform news institution- that broadcasts news in Arabic via an HD channel, a website and applications on smart and mobile devices, as well as through most social media platforms- had the strongest viewership growth rate amongst all Arab news channels in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt and Jordan, doubling its audience in many of these key markets.
The report also shows that that SNA is the most popular news channel in all territories amongst the valuable demographic of UAE males.
Digitally, SNA has the highest engagement levels on social media platforms in the Arab world, despite its relatively recent entry to the market.
SNA’s Facebook engagement rate of 20 per cent is significantly higher than that of its competitors, as is its Twitter influence rating of 85 per cent, based on the official "Klout" ratings.
SNA continues to see growth in its Snapchat and Instagram platforms to enhance its position as the most engaging and influential Pan-Arab source of news and current affairs.
SNA offers a unique content and a comprehensive coverage of news from the MENA region and the world through an integrated network of more than 500 journalists, who work together with a team of technicians and subject matter experts.
SNA broadcasts to more than 50 million homes in HD and SD format. SNA has 30 offices in the Middle East and North Africa, in addition to its offices in London and Washington
